Milan church celebrates pastor’s anniversary

MILAN, Tenn. — Members of a church in Milan teamed together Sunday to put on a surprise celebration for their pastor.

Dale Denning has been the senior pastor of Chapel Hill Baptist Church for 25 years.

Members of the church paired with the pastor’s wife to plan a celebration for his anniversary.

A video with church members saying how much the pastor meant to them was played at the ceremony.

Members say it was hard to keep the celebration a secret, but the end result was worth it.

“I’m overwhelmed today needless to say,” Denning said. “With all of the love, expression and congratulations, I cant even put it in words.”

Denning says attendance has grown significantly since he came to the church in 1991.

He says he hopes for many more years at the church to help it continue to grow.
