USJ’s Anna Jones signs with the MTSU Blue Raiders
JACKSON, Tenn — Wednesday morning USJ guard Anna Jones signed her national letter of intent to play basketball next season with the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders. This comes after countless hours spent in the gym when no one was watching, but a moment she says was well worth it.
“My Dad always told me being good doesn’t happen on accident,” Jones said.
Jones has been more than good in her career as a Lady Bruin racking up 1,900 points, 200 assists, 500 rebounds and 300 steals. But she still has one more season to finish, so those numbers could increase significantly.
Jones said her decision to go to MTSU was due to the family like atmosphere and how the girls there reminded her of the teammates she has now at
USJ.
“It’s really the girls, when I went up for my official visit, I just like fell in love with the team and just enjoyed being with them,” Jones said. ” I can’t wait to have a chance to play for a conference title every year and to play for such a legendary coach, like coach Insell.”
