Dream Center moves families thanks to a generous donation
JACKSON, Tenn. — Thanks to a generous donation, the Dream Center’s months long search for a new home is finally over. Saturday was moving day for the organization.
Mattresses, dressers and clothing. Everything is boxed up and ready to move into the Dream Centers new home.
“We’ve been looking long and hard and someone kindly donated two houses to us,” Dream Center Assistant Director Pamela Styles said. “So we are highly blessed.”
Saturday morning, Fellowship Church, BR Supply and the West Tennessee Movers all volunteered their time. Getting 13 families moved it to their temporary home in North Jackson.
“I’m very overwhelmed at all the people who have come out,” resident Amanda Davis said. “This has been my home twice now. It’s amazing what Gods doing for us and in our lives.”
“They are doing so much for our community,” volunteer Sally Rowland said. “They follow through. They help these women and their children to the point that they can find their own home.”
To avoid having to move families again, the Dream Center has started a $3.5 million capital campaign to raise money for a permanent space.
“The ladies that we help are broken,” Styles said. “Stability is something most of them don’t know. If we have a home that we don’t have to move out of, that’s stability for them. It means everything.”
“For each and every lady here, we all have a very bright future because of the Dream Center and because of Jesus Christ,” resident Lauren Turner said.
Coyote Blues had their food truck outside the Dream Center this morning. All proceeds went to the center. If you would like to contribute to the Dream Centers capital campaign call 731-512-0095 or you can visit their website, www.dreamcenterjackson.com.
