West Tenn. Healthcare releases statement after officer-involved shooting
JACKSON, Tenn. — West Tennessee Healthcare has released a statement following an officer-involved shooting Thursday at one of their facilities in Jackson.
As WBBJ previously reported, a man later identified as Don Fitzgerald White, 45, was shot by a Jackson police officer and later died after he reportedly stabbed a Pathways Behavioral Health Services employee multiple times.
Here is the full statement provided by Beth Parnell, communications director for West Tennessee Healthcare:
“Pathways Behavioral Services is open and lockdown was lifted last [Thursday] night. Crisis patients are being seen at the Emergency Department at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. In order to protect patient privacy and to abide by HIPAA regulations we are not able to release specific information regarding the employee or patient. We have sincerely appreciated all of the community’s support during this difficult time and we continue to keep all involved in our thoughts and prayers.”
