West Tennesseans are ready for Cyber Monday Deals

JACKSON, Tenn. — Starting at midnight Monday online shoppers can participate in the biggest sales of the year will hit your computer screens.

After making it through Black Friday crowds, some people say they are not quite finished and plan to shop on Cyber Monday.

“That old-school Nintendo, it’s been selling out, selling out,” shopper Latowya Givens said. “I’m trying to buy it online, so I’m trying to work on it hard this week.”

West Tennesseans are not alone, in 2015 more than $3 billion was spent online during Cyber Monday. Consumers have been taking advantage of online specials all week long. Avoiding crowded stores and long checkout lines.

“Sometimes you can find more things there some times,” Harris said. “But online is good and convenient if you don’t want to get out in the hustle and bustle.”screen-shot-2016-11-27-at-6-40-30-pm

Many retailers are offering free shipping on top of discounted prices. Walmart, Target and Best Buy have already started their Cyber Monday sales and some stores promise flash sales throughout the day.

With better deals and promised savings on Cyber Monday shoppers say buying online is the way to go.

“Online is better,” Givens said. “That way you know it’s there and you can get it. It comes in the mail you don’t have to worry about going out and fighting and all that.”

Statistics show Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Target and Best Buy websites were the most visited pages on Cyber Monday 2015. And each shopper spent an average of $124.
