Man charged with stealing phone from juvenile

JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson police arrested a man accused of stealing a cell phone from a juvenile.

Gary Lamar Thompson II appeared in Jackson City Court on Tuesday. He is charged with theft of property under $500.

Police said Thompson met the juvenile on Facebook and agreed to trade cell phones. When he went to pick up the phone on Oct. 11, officers said Thompson took the victim’s phone and left without trading.

Thompson is being held in lieu of $2,500 bond.
