Big week in Paris with bass tournament and candlelight walk
HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. — One local community has a lot going on over the next few days if you are still shaping up your plans.
Just because it is a little chilly does not mean the fish are not biting. Kentucky Lake is hosting the 2016 Toyota Bonus Bucks Team Championship.
“It’s a gathering of all the bass affiliated team trails throughout the country, there are 33 states represented one foreign country,” Bass Nation Director Jon Stewart said.
Officials said this tournament will bring in around $1.2 million into Henry County.
Weigh-ins are daily at 2:30PM until Saturday, so there is plenty to do.
“A full field, 186 boats, so almost 400 anglers are out there fishing right now,” Stweart said.
If fishing does not quite get you in the Christmas spirit, on Wednesday night Paris is holding their annual Candlelight Advent Walk starting in Downtown Paris.
“The Advent Walk is a combination of at least 6 downtown churches, but other churches on our community participate, it’s been primarily downtown churches because we are so close together,” Chairman Dr. Robert Martin said.
Around 300 people are expected to make their way to the walk on Wednesday evening for the beloved Paris tradition.
“It’s a unique candlelight experience, and I think it gives folks an opportunity to be together as a community to erase the denominational lines,” Dr. Martin said.
