WBBJ anchor Tom Britt to be inducted into Tennessee Journalism Hall of Fame

JACKSON, Tenn. — A longtime face of West Tennessee and WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News will be inducted into the Tennessee Journalism Hall of Fame.

Tom Britt is one of five people to be inducted Dec. 8 during the ceremony at the Murfreesboro Association of Realtors Training Center, according to an announcement from Middle Tennessee State University.

Britt is a 40-year veteran of electronic media in West Tennessee with nearly 20 years of that time spend with WBBJ-TV.

Tom has also been the voice University of Tennessee Martin football and women’s basketball with the Skyhawks Sports Network for more than 30 years.

He also serves as the color analyst for UT Martin men’s basketball.

Tom currently anchors and produces the Midday, Noon and 5 p.m. weekday newscasts on WBBJ-TV.
