Man faces gun, drug charges after search of Jackson apartment
JACKSON, Tenn. — A man is facing gun and drug charges after police executed a search warrant at his east Jackson apartment.
Darius Lynn Griggs was arrested Thursday morning after the search of his residence at Royal Arms Apartments.
When police did not get a response at the door, SWAT officers forced entry into the apartment, according to court papers.
Police reported finding a loaded handgun under a pillow in the bedroom. Griggs is a convicted felon, according to an affidavit.
They also reportedly found more than 50 grams of marijuana in separate bags.
Griggs is charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of schedule VI with intent, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond and is scheduled to return to court at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 15.
