“The work that we have done over the semester, we glaze and we finish and we sell so that we have more money to go back so we can keep making. Thirty percent goes back into our school,” potter Jessica Coats said.

Shoppers were able to work on their Christmas lists while shopping local and meeting some of the artists.

“My work is more loose than some people. There is some people here who really do like really fine, clean work, but my work is very happy-go-lucky,” Coats said.

Seventy percent of all sales goes back to the potter, allowing them to build their business before they get out of school.

“It really shows us that you can. It’s a viable source of income, because a lot of artists, you think they are starving, but you can make money. It can be a career,” Coats said.

The Potter’s Guild also hosts a Mother’s Day sale.
