Brothers indicted in deadly Haywood Co. house party shooting appear in court
HAYWOOD COUNTY, Tenn. — Two brothers charged in a fatal shooting at a house party appeared Monday in Haywood County Circuit Court.
Authorities say Quin Love opened fire June 26 on a crowd at the party, hitting 17-year-old Elia Hernandez. She was fatally shot in the abdomen.
The judge said Love, who was indicted under the name Quindarius Cottrell, was indicted by a grand jury on Dec. 5.
He was indicted on the charge of murder during the perpetration of a felony, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault with serious bodily injury, aggravated assault by fear, aggravated assault by injury with a weapon, and reckless endangerment.
Quin Love was indicted on charges of attempted first-degree murder of Jonathan Davis.
Davis was one of eight people who testified Dec. 2 in a preliminary hearing.
Authorities say at least three other people at the party were seriously injured.
Love’s brother, Christian Ray Cottrell was also indicted on an aggravated assault charge for his alleged involvement.
The brothers both are entering not guilty pleas to all counts.
They are scheduled to appear back in court April 10.
