Kroger Community Rewards program helps nonprofits

JACKSON, Tenn. — Nonprofits are asking you to remember them this holiday season while grocery shopping.

krogerAs part of the Kroger Plus Card’s Community Rewards program, shoppers can sign up to have a portion of purchases donated to participating organizations.

Kroger says each year the fundraiser helps bring in millions of dollars for churches, schools and nonprofits.

Downtown Dogs Group in Jackson is enrolled in the program.

“All the money we raise goes into direct care of the animals,” Director Michelle James said. “We don’t have any administrative staff, any aid staff of any kind, so everything we raise always goes to food and veterinary care and other supplies needed for the animals.”
