north-highland-shootingJACKSON, Tenn — The Jackson Police Department needs your help in finding two suspects behind a shooting at a frequented midtown Jackson business.

“Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area of 1302 North Highland,” Jackson Police Spokesman Lt. Tisdale said.

Tuesday afternoon, Jackson Police officers responded to gunfire in the parking lot of the T-Mart Discount Beer and Tobacco Store.

“We’ll be looking at all cameras, if there are any in the area to see if they can help us in this investigation,” Tisdale said.

Surveillance footage captured a man, wearing a hooded sweatshirt firing a handgun at an unidentified man in a silver car.

The suspect then left the scene in a silver Chevrolet Suburban with chrome wheels.

Police said the car was driven by another man who was seen by surveillance footage wearing a blue shirt.

“We have one vehicle that we don’t believe is involved in the incident that sustained damage to it,” Tisdale said.

“Fortunately we were not hit.”

Jeff Agee was across the street for a meeting when he heard the gunshots.north-highland-shooting-photos

“We were sitting here at the United Way Board Meeting and we were 15 minutes early and we were getting ready to go into the meeting and nobody was on the lot and all of a sudden we heard three or four shots go off and I knew what it was,” Agee said.

But it did not end there.

Police said no one was injured in the shooting but are urging the community to come forward. Others are just counting their blessings.

“I’m ready to go to the Lord when it’s his time, but I’m not ready today. I just feel blessed especially this time at Christmas,” Agee said.

“This is the time of day when kids are getting out of school, the holiday season and people are moving up and down the highway so we need as many people and the community to help us in any way possible. If anyone has any information whatsoever, don’t hesitate to give us a call at the Jackson police department,”  Tisdale said.
