Former Steak ‘n Shake employee charged with stealing cash from safe
JACKSON, Tenn. — A former employee of a Jackson restaurant is charged with stealing money from a safe after being fired earlier the same day.
Garrett Connolly Paige is charged with burglary and theft on accusations of stealing cash from a safe at Steak ‘n Shake on Vann Drive, according to court documents.
A manager told police that another employee had seen Paige enter the store Sunday through an employees-only door and then go into the manager’s office.
Surveillance video reportedly shows Paige enter the building through a rear employee door, walk to the manager’s office and enter an access code into a safe.
The suspect is then seen immediately leaving the building, according to an affidavit.
The manager told police $430 was missing from the safe.
