Bolivar native named employee of year for corrections company

HARDEMAN COUNTY, Tenn. — A Bolivar native was chosen from 13,000 CoreCivic employees across the nation as employee of the year.

James Howell

James Howell got the top honor. According to a statement, Howell has been with CoreCivic since 1997.

He is now the maintenance supervisor of Whiteville Correctional Facility, which is owned and operated by CoreCivic.

Officials say in addition to his work, Howell is also a volunteer firefighter and helps raise money for fallen police officers, firefighters and veterans.
