CME Church kicks off 146th anniversary with Founders Day celebration in Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn.-Dozens gathered Friday evening to kick off a celebration and honor those in the community.
The Christian Methodist Episcopal Church is kicking off their 146th Founders Day celebration with an awards banquet to honor local heroes.
This year’s honorees include chairman of the board at FirstBank, James Ayers, CEO of Hunt Services, David Hunt, Englewood Baptist Church Pastor Emeritus Phillip Jett, Jackson City Councilman Johnny Dodd and Jackson Transit Authority general manager Travis Franklin.
After the awards, guests were entertained by recording artist,Will Graves.
The weekend celebration continues Saturday with a service at Mother Liberty CME Church in downtown Jackson.
