Fire destroys Haywood Co. home

HAYWOOD COUNTY, Tenn. — A Monday morning house fire destroys a home just days before Christmas.

Officials say the fire started sometime before 12:30 Monday afternoon. A neighbor says when they heard about the fire, they ran over to help the woman who lived in the house, throwing a brick into a window and spraying two fire extinguishers in the bathroom where they think the fire started.

They called firefighters shortly after when they couldn’t control the fire.

No one was hurt, and no official information on how the fire started has been released.
