Surface temperatures are showing up as 60° in some areas and that’s probably due to the rain beginning to fall in certain areas across West Tennessee so it is definitely warm and mild for the day before Christmas Eve!

As I mentioned above, the rain is beginning to fall in West Tennessee even with some lightening showing up! With this storm there is a slight risk for a thunderstorm, but not anything to be worried about. I do want to point out that the wind is northerly which may make things feel slightly colder. Speaking of the wind, it is going to pick up slightly into the overnight hours to around 10-15 mph as the system bringing all of the rain we are going to see tomorrow pushes further into Tennessee.

Christmas Eve is going to be a pretty wet day with predicted accumulation amounts reaching up to 2 inches. Flash flooding is a concern for this day. From the beginning of the day to the end, it is going to be raining off and on. So if you happen to have any early holiday plans just make sure to grab an umbrella or wear your rain boots to church tomorrow. Temperatures will reach the upper 50s again tomorrow.

Christmas day should turn out to be a nice day with some drizzles and sprinkles expected throughout the day, but sunshine is not ruled out. Not a huge amount of rainfall is expected like it is for Saturday. There will more than likely be puddles, wet roads, etc. from all of the rainfall we will see Saturday. Temperatures will reach the upper 60s or even the low 70s on Sunday! The average temperature for this time of year is 49°! So we will be having a warm Christmas for sure.

The rest of the week is going to continue to be considerably wet. We are finally getting a substantial amount of rain after such a rough fall season filled with drought conditions. A cold front is expected to tumble into Tennessee either Wednesday or Thursday bringing us back winter-like conditions.

Everyone have a great and safe Christmas weekend!
