Liberty sends seven players to play college football

JACKSON, Tenn — The Liberty Tech Crusaders sent a school record 7 football players to play at the collegiate level, and some are going together. I spoke with a few about the special moment and getting a chance to continue playing with their teammates.

“Man it feels great, I’ll have somebody there I know, and some people I can vibe with and some people I definitely feel like I can work with, it should be fun,” Murray State commit Corey Newble  said.

Wide receiver and Murray State commit, Rodney Castille felt the same way.

“People talk about going with they closest friend, play college football, and we get too so it’s cool,” Castille said.

As far as the emotions surrounding the big day, Memphis commit and Newble both had similar nights leading up to their signing.

“It feel good pretty good man, I couldn’t even sleep last night, but I stayed up until like one in the morning knowing I’m about to get ready to sign my letter of intent,” Long said.

“Man it really feel like a dream come true, I couldn’t sleep last night I was so anxious,” Newble said.  “Just feel good to put on a suit, put on a hat and sign those papers.”

Joining Long at Memphis will be Elijah Harris. Joining Castille and Newble at Murray State is Christian Ballard. Johntazzie Montague and Trey Dunlap will join the Bethel football program this fall.
