Man charged with trying to kidnap child from Dyersburg home
DYERSBURG, Tenn. — A man is charged with attempted kidnapping and burglary after police say he broke through a window at a home and tried to abduct a small child.
Christopher Milligan, 33, is facing charges of aggravated burglary and criminal attempt to commit especially aggravated kidnapping after the Monday incident, according to a release from the Dyersburg Police Department.
Officers responded to Bishop Street where witnesses said Miller had broken a window at a home and tried to remove a small child, according to the release.
The child’s father was reportedly able to intervene and stop him from taking the child.
Police say they believe illegal drugs were a factor based on the suspect’s behavior and statements.
Milligan was taken to the Dyer County Jail pending his arraignment in Dyersburg City Court.
