Northside United Methodist Church honored for community service

JACKSON, Tenn. — A local church got nationwide honors Tuesday in recognition of all they do for the community.

Northside United Methodist Church on North Highland Avenue was honored as the best church in the country Tuesday by a national group of Methodist leaders.

Denominational judges say the congregation was chosen for their ministry to the homeless population of Jackson and fundraisers for local women, children and families in need.
