JACKSON, Tenn. — Officials with University School of Jackson say their football coach has accepted a job across the state.

Rusty Bradley

Rusty Bradley announced he has accepted a job at Grace Christian Academy in East Tennessee, according to a release from the school.

USJ will immediately begin a nationwide search for their next head football coach.

Head of School Stuart Hirstein released the following statement:

“We thank Rusty for his work as the football coach for the University School of Jackson over the past year. He made a difficult decision that he felt was best for him and his family. When he sat down and discussed this with me, I wished him the best. Our focus is now concerned with finding the right coach to lead our program.

“USJ is a great school with a strong academic and athletic mission. Many outstanding coaches are eager for the chance to help impact the lives of young people, and we want to provide that opportunity for the right person here at USJ. Our school is a special place and will be a great fit for a coach who wants to invest in our students and begin a lengthy career at USJ.”

WBBJ sports anchor Ahmad Hicks will have more on Bradley’s departure this evening on WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News.
