Man pleads not guilty to killing 2 Fort Campbell soldiers

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (AP) – A man charged with killing two Fort Campbell soldiers and wounding a teenager in a domestic dispute has pleaded not guilty.

The Kentucky New Era reports (http://bit.ly/2nIvEXG) 35-year-old Jeremy J. Demar entered the plea during a hearing Wednesday. Demar, of Clarkesville, Tennessee, is charged with murder in the deaths of his estranged wife, 35-year-old Spc. Priscilla A. East, and 28-year-old Sgt. Christopher R. Hoch.

They were killed Feb. 2 at a home belonging to Spc. Dominique House, who told The Leaf Chronicle in a previous interview that she was engaged to Hoch and was best friends with East. They were soldiers at the post on the Kentucky-Tennessee line.

Demar also is charged with assaulting House’s 16-year-old brother.

The judge has set the next hearing in the case for July 19.
