Jackson Christian temporarily placed on ‘lockout’ mode due to reported gunshot in area

JACKSON, Tenn. — Officials with Jackson Christian confirm the school was temporarily placed on “lockout” mode Wednesday afternoon after a report of a gunshot in the area.

They say the precaution only lasted about 10 minutes. School leaders say “lockout” mode means there were gunshots reported in the area but not on school property.

Lt. Matt Hardaway with the Jackson Police Department said police received a report of a gunshot in the area but have not been able to confirm a shooting.

Lt. Derick Tisdale said they received the report of the gunshot around 1:50 p.m.
