Lane College holds ‘I am Lane’ National Day of Giving
JACKSON, Tenn. — Lane College held its inaugural “I am Lane” National Day of Giving.
The goal was to raise $10,000 in conjunction with the Tom Joyner School of the Month campaign.
Events were held throughout the day, and Tom Joyner visited the school as well.
From 2 p.m to 4 p.m. Friday, Joyner broadcast his radio show in front of the J.F. Lane Gymnasium.
“It shows different schools what lane college is all about, what type of students that we have here to really develop our power of potential,” Lane’s SGA president Keenan Lowery said. “And hopefully, it encourages more people to donate to our school and help us in our educational endeavors.”.
After the show, the students held a cookout.
