Decatur Co. deputy suspended without pay

DECATUR COUNTY, Tenn. — A sheriff’s deputy in Decatur County faces sexual battery charges and has been suspended without pay, according to the sheriff.

According to Sheriff Keith Byrd, a female living in Decatur County filed a complaint about the deputy two to three weeks ago, and the district attorney’s office investigated.

The sheriff says the deputy faces sexual battery charges.

The case is still under investigation.
