Man arrested after Fred’s break-in

JACKSON, Tenn. — A man accused of breaking into Fred’s in south Jackson was arraigned Monday morning in Jackson City Court.

Court documents say police saw Frederick Hardville, 46, leaving the store shortly after the glass front doors were broken around 1 a.m. Friday. Officers told Hardville to stop, but Hardville ran from police.

Court documents say Hardville was taken into custody near Rebel Road across from Fred’s after a brief chase and struggle.

Officers found a claw hammer, 15 cartons of cigarettes, 14 single packs of cigarettes, a remote control monster truck, earbuds, and a Bluetooth car kit that belonged to the store, according to court documents.

Hardville remains in custody in lieu of $30,000 bond.
