Man arrested after missing Nashville girl found at Jackson motel

JACKSON, Tenn. — A Jackson man was arrested after a missing 12-year-old girl from Nashville was found at a Jackson motel.

Rakedious Snipes, 23, is charged with false reports and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Jackson police were assisting the Metro Nashville Police Department in searching for a runaway girl who police believed was endangered.

Court documents say, Nashville police determined that the girl had been communicating with Snipes’ cell phone. Snipes voluntarily came to the Jackson Police Department Wednesday morning and spoke with investigators.

Court documents say, Snipes initially told investigators that he did not know the missing girl, but later admitted that he knew where the girl was and gave investigators a hotel key.

The girl, who had been missing since Saturday, was found inside a room at the Airways Motel, according to court documents.

The girl was reported missing to Metro Nashville Police Department Tuesday.

Court documents say investigators found receipts for the motel room registered in Snipes’ name from Dec. 29, when the girl left Nashville.

Snipes knew the girl’s age and was not given permission to bring her to Jackson, according to court documents.

He remains in custody at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex on $50,000 bond.
