Woman charged after $16,000 in merchandise stolen from Sears

JACKSON, Tenn. — A woman is charged in connection with a theft from Sears, with more than $16,000 in merchandise stolen from the North Jackson store.

Takeea Douglass, 25, is charged with theft of property over $10,000.

According to court documents, employees at Sears saw several men and women hiding more than 280 pairs of Levis and leaving the store without paying for the merchandise.

Court documents say the total of the merchandise was more than $16,000.

Employees told police one of the women was identified as Douglass based on a Tennessee driver’s license photo and recent Facebook posts, according to court documents.

Douglass remains in custody at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex.
