Humboldt police seek suspect in weekend shooting
HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — Police are searching for a suspect wanted on an attempted murder charge in connection with a Sunday afternoon shooting.
Monterio Demarius Ross, 22, of Milan is wanted on charges of attempted first-degree murder, reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, according to a release from the Humboldt Police Department.
Officers responded just after 12:30 p.m. Sunday to a report of someone being shot at a convenience store at Central Avenue and Mitchell Street, according to the release.
Police found one victim with gunshot wounds that were not believed to be life threatening. The victim was transported to Humboldt General Medical Center and then airlifted.
Anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts is urged to call your local police department. Ross should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, according to police.
