UPDATE: Police say stabbing at north Jackson drive-thru was self-defense
JACKSON, Tenn. — Police say a fight between two friends Tuesday evening in a car outside a north Jackson restaurant led to a stabbing.
Officers responded just before 5 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a stabbing at the Taco Bell at the corner of North Highland Avenue and Ridgecrest Road, according to a release from the Jackson Police Department.
Police say two men were in a car in the drive-thru when one of them started hitting the other with his fists. The second man then stabbed the other in self-defense, according to the release.
Both men were treated at a local hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. Police did not identify the men.
Police say the men were friends and that officers are not looking for any other suspects.
The investigation is ongoing.
