Brothers wanted in Trenton shooting arrested in Illinois

TRENTON, Tenn. — Two men wanted in connection with a shooting at an apartment complex in Trenton are in custody in Illinois, according to Trenton police.

Police confirm they received a tip that brothers Cameron Banks, 21, and Deandre Banks, 19, were at a home in Springfield, Illinois.

Police said both were arrested and are currently in custody.

A hearing to determine if the brothers will be extradited to Tennessee was scheduled for Friday afternoon.

The brothers were wanted on charges of attempted first-degree murder in connection with a Jan. 31 shooting on Third Street in Trenton. Trenton police say the victim arrived at an emergency room in Milan with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was airlifted to a Memphis hospital for treatment.
