Jackson Christian students to perform at Disney World

JACKSON, Tenn. — Some students at Jackson Christian might have taken their final bow at the NED last month in their production of “Little Women,” but they’re not done performing just yet.

“‘Little Women’ is about four sisters — Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy. It is just about their journey growing up,” said Olivia Dunn, who played Amy March.

Fifty-six students made up the cast of “Little Women.” They have been rehearsing since last fall.

“Unlike a lot of people who put on plays and stuff, we don’t get to practice where we perform until the last week,” Weston Fallert, who played Professor Bhaer, said. “We did all of our rehearsing here at school, and then we moved to the NED for one week of practice.”

Then in January they had six performances for the community. Later this week they are headed to Disney to perform selections of songs from the show.

“We also get to tour their whole theater facility and use their rehearsal rooms and all that stuff, and so that’s really fun to see a more professional side of things,” Dunn said.

They will perform in Downtown Disney on Thursday. When they come back, the seniors are excited for what’s next for them, too.

“I’m really ready to see these people that we’ve grown up with come into their roles and take on the leadership that comes with being a senior and being a lead,” Maggie Nash, who played Jo March, said.

The students will also get to attend a concert of Disney Broadway performers.
