Preliminary survey: EF-1 tornado struck Union City

OBION COUNTY, Tenn. — Preliminary damage survey results indicate an upper end EF-1 tornado struck Union City Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service Memphis.

A team was in Obion County Monday to survey the damage.

The storm is estimated to have had winds of up to 105-110 mph, according to the preliminary report.

The tornado track was on the east side of Union City with the worst damage in the Orchard and Jenkins road areas, according to the report.

National Weather Service Memphis plans to have more details later this week.
