JCM’s Early College High celebrates Black History Month
JACKSON, Tenn. — A local school took a break from the books Tuesday to host their Black History Month program.
Students and teachers at Jackson Central-Merry’s Early College High celebrated Black History Month in their own way with a program put together completely by teachers and students.
The event included speeches, songs and even dancing.
English teacher Kameilah Allen says that now that the school isn’t as new, they can plan fun programs like this for their students.
“We are now becoming completely acclimated, our students are acclimated. We can now have fun and put together various programs,” Allen said.
The school’s choir also held their first performance.
