Former Madison Co. jailer charged in contraband conspiracy
JACKSON, Tenn. — A former Madison County Sheriff’s Office employee is now facing charges, along with two men, for allegedly conspiring to bring drugs into the Madison County jail.
Kimberly Stone, 41, was a detention specialist at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex from Nov. 1, 2016, until she was fired Feb. 23, 2018, according to a news release from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
Stone, Aaron Tate IV, 33, and Brandon Givens, 35, were indicted this week on charges of introduction of contraband and conspiracy to introduce contraband to a jail.
Stone is also charged with official misconduct.
According to the sheriff’s office, Stone developed a relationship with Tate while he was in custody. During the course of the relationship, Tate allegedly asked Stone to bring marijuana into the jail from Givens, the release says.
Stone is accused of bringing marijuana into the jail for Tate, the release says.
The release says Stone admitted her involvement in the alleged conspiracy to investigators with the sheriff’s office.
The arrests come as a result of an investigation into alleged misconduct of another former jail employee, according to the release.
Stone has been released from custody on $25,000 bond. Tate and Givens remain in custody without bond.
All three are scheduled for arraignment Monday morning in Madison County Circuit Court.
