Late night shooting in east Jackson sends 2 to hospital

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Police Department is investigating a shooting at Royal Arms Apartments on North Royal Street late Wednesday night.

The Jackson Police Department says two men were injured. One victim has been treated and released from the hospital. The second victim remains in the hospital in critical but stable condition.

One neighbor in the area says gunshots are not uncommon in the neighborhood.

A neighbor off camera said he was in bed and asleep when the shots rang out. The neighbor didn’t know how many shots were fired, but says there were several shots.

The investigation is still ongoing. The Jackson Police Department has not released a suspect description.
