Comptroller approves financing for Madison Academic move to Lambuth
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Tennessee Comptroller’s Office has approved the funding arrangement that would allow Madison Academic Magnet High School to move to the University of Memphis Lambuth Campus.
The school would be a dual enrollment high school on the Lambuth campus, at Madison Academic, or through the university’s online program.
The University of Memphis announced the approval Wednesday in a news release.
The release says the school will move into a new facility on the Lambuth campus, facing Lambuth Boulevard.
The building will allow increased enrollment from about 450 students to 600 students, according to the release.
The relocation will also allow Madison Academic’s baseball and soccer teams to use fields on the Lambuth campus, and the school’s basketball team will be able to use Lambuth’s gym.
Madison Academic students will also be able to use other Lambuth facilities, the release says.
