Man convicted of child rape sentenced to 30 years

JACKSON, Tenn. — A man convicted of rape of a child in Jackson has been sentenced to serve 30 years without parole.

Kelvin Golden, 22, was indicted on two counts of rape of a child and one count of soliciting rape of a child in February. He was convicted of one count of rape of a child in May.

Golden was sentenced June 4 to serve 30 years without parole.

In a news release Wednesday, prosecutors say Golden was convicted in May 2018 on one count of aggravated sexual battery. In that case, the release says, he was sentenced to serve 10 years without parole.
