Soggy And Mild Today

Weather Update: 8:00 AM Thursday, January 2 —

Good Morning West Tennessee. The rain has arrived right on schedule this morning. Skies will remain cloudy and rain will be relatively persistent through this morning. I expect the areal coverage and intensity of the showers to increase especially afternoon when a warm front lifts north from southern Mississippi/Alabama into NW part of Mississippi. The band will focus a corridor of heavy rain that will likely dump 1 to 2 inches easily through this evening, especially south of I-40. the National Weather Service in Memphis has an Areal Flood Watch that will go into effect at Noon today, that is about when we expect the heavier rain to begin.

Tonight: Showers will continue with temps slowly falling back through the 50s and maybe bottoming out around 49. Showers become more scattered, however they will continue, more consistent especially south of I-40.
