High-risk inmates released from Henderson Co. jail

HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Henderson County Sheriff Brian Duke confirmed Tuesday that fewer than a dozen inmates have been released from the Henderson County jail due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Sheriff Duke said the inmates who have been released were considered high-risk for COVID-19, and were serving sentences on misdemeanor charges.

The inmates’ releases were authorized by a local judge.
