Weakley Co. shooting victim identified, remains hospitalized

WEAKLEY COUNTY, Tenn. — The Weakley County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of a shooting Wednesday night as 18-year-old Canon Magourik.

Investigators say Magourik remains hospitalized in Nashville in critical, but stable, condition.

The sheriff’s office says the U.S. Marshal’s Service, along with multiple other agencies, are assisting the Weakley County Sheriff’s Office in locating a suspect.

Investigators say a second individual, who has not been identified, is believed to have information on the shooting.

Deputies with the Weakley County Sheriff’s Office initially responded to a report of a shooting on Union Church Road Wednesday night around 8:30 p.m. Investigators say Magourik was shot multiple times after answering the door at his mother’s home.
