LIFELINE: ‘Blood supply is dangerously low’

JACKSON, Tenn. — LIFELINE Blood Services is seeking blood donations as the blood supply across the country has become “dangerously low” due to decreased donations during the pandemic.

“We desperately need the public to respond now by coming to the Blood Center,” said Tonya Johnson, LIFELINE’s Director of Community Services.

Cherie Parker, LIFELINE’s public relations manager, says they are following all safety guidelines to keep donors safe.

The Blood Center at 183 Sterling Farms Drive in Jackson is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Walk-ins are welcome, but you can also make an appointment by texting the word “schedule” to 999777.

Visit lifelinebloodserv.org and click “Upcoming Blood Drives” to find out where bloodmobiles will be in your area.

To speak with someone directly about any questions you have about donating blood, call (731) 427-4431, ext. 0.

“Please don’t wait,” Johnson said. “We need you now.”
