Rep. Curtis Halford named chairman of agriculture, natural resources committee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Rep. Curtis Halford has been named chairman of the House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, according to a news release.

The 16-person committee will be responsible for laws regarding energy, forestry, natural resources, and more, the release says.

Members will also oversee environmental-related issues, parks and recreation, public land, and other topics.

“It is an incredible honor to be named Chairman of the House Agriculture & Natural Resources Committee by Speaker Sexton,” said Chairman Halford.  “My colleagues and I will continue to address the complex issues related to these important industries, and we will work to preserve our natural resources and tackle environmental issues for the benefit our current and future generations.”
