One dead after Sunday morning house fire

JACKSON, Tenn. — Investigators confirmed Sunday one person is dead after a house fire in east Jackson.

The Jackson Fire Department responded to the fire around 3:30 a.m. Sunday on Middle Avenue.

Fire Marshal Lamar Childress says the resident of the home was found in the back bedroom.

The individual was taken to Nashville for an autopsy.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The individual’s name has not been confirmed.
