Overnight crash in Medina leaves 1 dead, 2 injured

MEDINA, Tenn.

An overnight crash in Medina leaves two injured and one dead.

Around midnight on May 6, officers with the Medina Police Department arrived at the scene of a vehicle crash.

The crash occurred near Sonic Drive and Highway 45 East, and involved a 2008 Nissan Quest minivan and a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Officers observed both vehicles in the median of the roadway when they arrived.

Gibson County EMS transported the van’s occupants — a man and a woman from Jackson — for treatment. One was then airlifted by Vanderbilt Lifeflight.

Authorities determined the driver of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries at the crash. Authorities identified him as Ricky Wilson of Skullbone.

According to a news release, preliminary evidence shows the van was traveling in the wrong lane when it struck the vehicle.

No further details are immediately available on the overnight crash or the identity of the van occupants.
