The Society for African-American Cultural Awareness puts on the first Jackson Juneteenth Pageant
JACKSON, Tenn.– The Society for African-American Cultural Awareness held a pageant in Jackson.
The organization hosted the first Jackson Juneteenth Pageant Saturday evening.
The pageant showcased six young ladies in the community.
The contestants performed a talent and modeled evening gowns.
SACA President, Wendy Trise-Martin, said this show is more than just a pageant.
“It’s an empowerment really. An empowerment of sisterhood, of history, of culture,” Trise-Martin said.
Trise-Martin says they are always looking for sponsors for their program.
