Annual Soybean Festival returns Sept. 4
MARTIN, Tenn. — The largest festival in northwest Tennessee is back.
Sept. 4 through Sept. 11 marks the 28th year of the annual Soybean Festival.
After being cancelled last year, the City of Martin is preparing for a fun and well attended event.
“The Tennessee Soybean Festival is a 25 plus, year-long tradition and it started out as a small community festival, and it’s really grown into like the largest festival in northwest Tennessee,” said Marketing Director Camille Noe.
Noe says they’re expecting nearly 30,000 attendees.
“I think more people are, you know, they’ve had their vaccine, they are ready to get out, they are ready to experience events again and seek community and be with their friends and family. We want people to be as safe as possible, but we also want them to have fun and enjoy,” Noe said.
The first weekend kicks off with activities, like bull riding and a truck and tractor pull.
“Our main day starts on Wednesday, so we’ll have our side show acts, our carnival rides coming, our vendor fair will be open, and then we’ll have our paid concerts starting Thursday,” Noe said.
Attendees can expect shows like Sea Lion Splash Show. There will also be food trucks and performances from legends like Rick Springfield and Bret Michaels.
“Our acts have been pretty amazing every year. We’re bouncing back from the previous, the past year’s problems, but this year we’re super excited to have the festival come back again,” Noe said.
