American heroes unveil largest US flag in Crockett County

CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — Wednesday, Crockett County recognized the all-American heroes of 2021.

The Crockett County Exchange Club and Carl Perkins Center presented the largest flag in the county to celebrate American pride and to bring awareness to child abuse.

The 30-by-60-foot American flag was unveiled by veterans, first responders, and members of the community.

“The Exchange Club of Crockett focuses on four areas. We focus on our youth programs, our community service, our Americanism, was which is what we’re sponsoring here today. Then our national project, which is the prevention of child abuse,” said Exchange Club President Angela Boone.

“We’re happy to celebrate the freedoms that everyone else here are celebrating: American pride, patriotism, and being able to see all of the hometown heroes as they’re calling it here in Crockett County,” said WoodmenLife Financial Representative Kyle East.

WoodmenLife donated the flag, and has presented over three and a half million flags across the country to nonprofit organizations and schools.
