Harold William “Scooter” Harvey

Harold William “Scooter” Harvey, age 85, resident of Somerville, Tennessee and husband of Patsy Springer Harvey, departed this life Saturday morning, January 22, 2022 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville.

Harold was born July 29, 1936 in Somerville, the son of the late Booth Gerard Harvey and Mary Leigh Carothers Harvey. He graduated from Fayette County High School in Somerville and served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a lifelong resident of Fayette County and a member of Antioch Methodist Church in Somerville. Scooter was employed as a forklift driver at International Harvester for many years before his retirement and was an avid bird hunter.

Mr. Harvey is survived by his wife who he married in 1964, Patsy Springer Harvey of Somerville, TN; his son, William Lee Harvey (Niki) of Hutchinsonville, KS; and two grandsons, Ethan Harvey and Mason Harvey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Carpenter and Linnie Carter and two brothers, Richard Harvey and Thomas Harvey.

Funeral Services for Mr. Harvey will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Jim Perry officiating. Interment will follow in the Hood Cemetery in the Warren Community. A visitation for Mr. Harvey will be from 1 to 2 P.M. Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends and the family requests that memorials be directed to Antioch Methodist Church, 5600 Feathers Chapel Drive, Somerville, TN 38068.
